Open letter to Hugh Hewitt:
Hugh, you are so close but yet so far from understanding the demise of the industry formerly known as Main Stream Media (print). The industry has become Left Wing Media while New Media has become mainstream. The time has come for you and your peers to stop referring to it as Main Stream because it no longer is!
Left Wing Media is in deep do-do! Circulation at major newspapers is in precipitous decline. Ad Revenues are in the tank. And, the scapegoat is the Internet and New Media.
The newspaper industry is not dead as evidenced by the growth of local, community and special interest papers. This suggests that the root cause of problems in the industry formerly known as Main Stream Media is not delivery method but rather content.

I'm starting to believe there is something to the notion that as we age we become our parents!
I remember the many letters and a few articles that Dad had published and in particular the letter to the editor he was so proud of that made "Newsweek." He didn't have the benefit of a computer to pound out his opinions and the internet, blogs and YourHub.com to rapidly distribute those writings.
I may dream of a retirement job as an editorial writer but it is obvious that if I haven't been discovered yet the odds aren't too good. Despite that I enjoy turning out thought pieces that probably don't get read by anyone but me.
Recently, I discovered an article drafted by Father challenging someone else's writings on the Devil in the Bible. I was a bit shocked to see a writing style similar to my own that challenged perceived reality by reliance on original source data.... just like looking in a mirror.
